Day 101 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - When You Are in the Practice...

Lesson 101: When You Are in the Practice...

Today comes with major realisations around compassion. Imagine when holding compassion that you and another person are the same. Apparently we are all the same! Opening up to this will really open you up. Today’s practise is to imagining that we are another person and get an idea of this person that you didn’t have before. You may even become more in tune with this person and gain more intuition about that person.

I decided to imagine one of my friends. I won’t name their names in case they read it. Anyway, they have had major loss, suffer depression possibly their whole lives and have their own habits and addictions. What I decided to take perspective from was suffering the major loss of a family member. I truly do not understand what this is like as I haven’t had too many major family members pass on and I’m a bit different on death. I see death as the next stage of our being and we move onto the next plane or next life so to speak.

Anyway, taking on this loss saw me feel some major hurt inside. Everything in life can blank out as all you can focus on is the pain. It’s almost like nothing else really matters except your suffering. But it’s not about wallowing for this person. It’s about having one of the best chunks of your life ripped out from you and how does one live on? It’s very soul crushing. You almost don’t have patience for people and their petty shit. What I do see for this person is the natural small steps to getting back that life that is needed. Seeing the good things and really embracing it. it will happen but definitely in their own time.

I think when we hold compassion in this way, it really tests your boundaries and stretches what you think and know. Everyone has a story and we need to be reminded that we shouldn’t judge and hold compassion and understanding for each other.

Lesson 101: Like Attracts Like

Today is all about your vibration and what you can attract. All of this is within our power. Such thoughts like “I’m worried about my future” “I don’t have enough” “why are bad things always happening to me?” etc are going to do what exactly? Attract that of the same frequency. It’s very much put out a good thought and let good things happen and fall into place. Have thoughts such as “I have enough” “I trust in the Universe and it’s plan” “I have faith that good things come when I need it” etc and see the vibration change. We attract what we put out. So empower yourself and then see how your life changes. This is your choice and no one else’s. Always remember that you are in control. Send out some good vibrations today and notice your feelings inside.

Lesson 100: It Can Be No Other Way

Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.
— Albert Einstein

Today we are to contemplate this Albert Einstein quote and know that everything is energy. The question is posed what can we do to raise our energetic vibration today?

Because I do this course hand in hand with A Year of Spiritual Awakening course, I am currently learning about Compassion. Today what I did to raise the vibration was imagine golden light showering and energising my team mates in our general area. It’s about spreading good vibes to everyone and just keeping up a positive attitude. Whatever troubles they may face, I’m holding compassion for them also. Even though it looks gloomy outside of my office window, I can raise the energetic vibration inside. Let the good times spread!

Lesson 100: The Ability to Hold Compassion...

Day 100! How exciting is this! It doesn’t even seem like 100 days have occurred this year. It’s been so fast! Today’s lesson is all about the intricacies of compassion. If we can hold compassion for others, then we can definitely hold it for ourselves, as we are no different from one another. It is an exchange from self to another and then from another to self. This is how energy can be exchanged and it’s filled with light and love. Today’s lesson is about considering how compassion works in this cycle and continuous loop.

When I was reading this lesson, it reminded me of the infinity symbol. An infinite loop of back and forth compassion. When we send healing to others, and this can be a simple thought of someone in sending good vibes, we are sending out our love because we feel it, not only for them but for ourselves. It also reminds me of karma – you put forth good things in the world and see it returned. There is no end to how much positivity you can send out and know that people do the same for you. It’s a really uplifting thought when we can accept this.

Day 99 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - Even a Small Bit of Energy...

Lesson 99: Even a Small Bit of Energy...

Today we are to practise compassion for just a mere 5 minutes as every small amount will change our energy. We are to “dial it up” to where ever we think it’s required and to whom ever we think needs it. No judgement, just apply it. See if the energy shifts and you along with it. Negativity leaves whilst positive energy comes to fill your heart.

I decided to take on this exercise for my old manager at work. As part of a recent restructure, he doesn’t have a new role to go into and his job search is currently taking a toll. Even though I may not have agreed with every decision he made, I hold compassion because it must be tough to be in his current situation trying to look for a job and support a family. I sincerely hope he gets some financial security soon because I can only imagine how tough it is.

It’s definitely a pure space to be in when you fill your heart with compassion. It’s a new feeling for me and to stop and concentrate is something I encourage. Sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we sometimes need to be more than just ourselves. Having compassion allows us to see a bigger picture of ourselves and others. I think if I adopt just 5 minutes a day towards anyone I see on the street or for the people in my life, it’ll make a difference in achieving pure love in my heart. I mean, this is how I want to live, though now I feel I have a useful tool to achieve this, which I was never taught before. I see this as a wider opening to my true self.
