Lesson 249: All the Meditation...

All the meditation, all the yoga, all the renunciation in the world will not allow you to reach spiritual awakening. It happens in the heart. It’s the only way to get there; nothing else can do this for you.
— Sara Wiseman

Our spiritual awakening happens in our heart. I think that’s very powerful. It’s not in the mind or thought. It’s an opening of the heart. With being in the current passage of the heart of connection, we are urged to open it more. By going through the passage of pain and compassion, we can definitely learn and now it’s about allowing connection to happen.

I believe connection has to start with self. It’s about how you understand yourself and what your truth is. Once you go on this self journey of discovery, it allows for connection to other beings as well as the Universe (or God, deity etc that you believe in). To me, a spiritual awakening is like that piece of the puzzle that was lost and it just fits you. It allows you to understand how you are part of a collective One and how you can contribute your energy to that One. There is so much potential and possibility by opening your heart. There is also a knowing that everything will be okay. No matter how bad it gets, I just know that I’m going to be okay. I don’t know how and why, it’s just this knowing that I can’t explain. It’s essentially faith.

Can you open your heart today? if you can’t, why not? What could go wrong by being open?

Day 249 - A Year to Clear - Be Discerning

Lesson 249: Be Discerning

Be with those who help your being.
— Rumi

When we hang out with people that raise our energy, how do you feel? You choose to be around the people you surround yourself with. You don’t need to be around people who have nothing positive to say, who are toxic or go and drag the mood down. There is no reason why you can’t be around people who genuinely make you happy and stop it there. Everyone has a choice to rid themselves of those that will lower your own vibration. Today we are to spend our time with people that raise us up.

I think it’s important to know that I do generally cut pessimistic or toxic people out of my life. I have no qualms about it. as I get older, I realise that my time is precious. Why would I want to spend my time with people who aren’t going to raise my energy up? That’s a question I pose to myself and others. I don’t feel bad for it either. I really don’t care for people who are out to bring the mood down rather than make a change in their life to improve it.  I admit that I do go through lows, but I always reach a point where I have to ask myself just exactly what am I going to do to turn it around. I personally cannot stand people that continuously complain, you give them advice which is ignored and they just don’t want to make a change for the better. I even cut my own father out of my life because he mentally and emotionally abused me. That was one of the hardest decisions of my life and breaking friendships can come easily for me. This is why it’s so important for me to always surround myself with people that genuinely care for me and vice versa.

My Thursday consisted of going to work but then having a dinner with friends and visiting a tourist attraction called the Melbourne Star. It’s like the London Eye but much smaller. It was something random and it turned out really fun. We got to see the city at night and it was quite pretty. We then had cocktails at a bar and just chilled. Couldn’t get too crazy seeing as we had work the next day. I think I enjoyed my time because it was something different in my week. Not part of my average routine and it was nice to get together with friends and experience something for the first time. It was something really simple but joyful at the same time. I do find happiness in simple things.

How was your Thursday? Did you manage to spend it with someone that raises your vibration?
