Xmas Dinner OOTD

img_8142.jpg

Ok, so it's a bit late to be posting my Christmas Eve Dinner outfit but the dress is so pretty that I have to share!

I literally bought this dress for $10 from a boutique in Sydney that was closing down. Bought it over a year ago and never wore it. It's a very nice print with pink and black which is my favourite colour combo.

Here are some pics:

Hope everyone kept safe these holidays!

Testing out Sukin Hair Care

Over here in Australia, all I see is a brand named Sukin. Sukin lotion, Sukin shampoo, Sukin night cream, Sukin Sukin Sukin.

So I decided to test out this moisture restoring shampoo and conditioner.

I have been testing these products for at least 2 months.

The reason why I tried out this product is because it is an Australian owned company and is organic. They are carbon neutral, environmentally friendly in the packaging and are free of animal testing or use of any by-products derived from animals.

I do not remember the pricing on these products but remember it being around $10 each. The claim is that it detangles hair and contains moisture enriching products to restore dry/damaged hair and leave your hair silky smooth. I can honestly say that this has not worked for me. My hair still feels dry and tangles all the time. This is not to say that it wouldn't work for someone else but in my own personal experience, I can safely say I will not be buying this particular product again.

I bought this product purely out of interest. I also made in my purchase some rosehip oil and I am still in the process of testing this out on the scarring of my face.

Overall, I say use the product if you want to support natural products free of harm to animals and the environment. Results may not be what you want them to be, but at least you know you have purchased a product that is not cruel to the environment.

More Beauty Boxes?

Was reading Thoughts In Little Boxes who tested out:

This was available in the UK and it made me think about other options in Australia. There are different options out there depending on what brands you might be interested in.

Australian customers

To be launched soon...

I have linked the products page for each website. These are alternative options to Glossy Box

American customers

Beauty Bar does have a waiting list

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UK customers
Previously known as Boudoir Privé
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Canadian customers

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
International customers
Found a review of this Korean website on this blog
Please note you do have to go onto a waiting list for Eco-Emi but all the products are organic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is just a point of reference for people to check out the various sites and choose a beauty box is best for them. There is a variety of subscription offers and you do have to pick and choose what products you will be most interested in. Research around and read reviews on the companies before you subscribe. The good thing is, you can cancel your subscription anytime.

I found that America had the most to offer for their residents. With this growing trend, I'm sure there will be more companies emerging offering more options as well as natural, organic products.

I'm off now to research some nail polish trends.

:D

Outfit of the Month - Cherry Love - March

Sorry I have been away when I wanted to post this - Please click here to check out some nice pics of where I went.

This month, I wanted to share some cherry fashion. I think cherries are cute and anyone can wear the designs. They make me happy so they should make you happy too :)

Here are some cool stuff I found:

Clothing

Found this at Attitude Oz for AU$51.95 and it reminded me of the 50s. It's simple but sweet. The website does have a lot of vintage style dresses as well as punk and alternative wear. Although, I'm not a huge punk clothing wearer, I do admire the designs and what dresses are on offer. Most sites like this one, do offer some really beautiful vintage styled dresses with funky designs.

I like this dress because it reminds me of those t-shirt dresses but with a twist with the layering. It also has a crocheted hem and comes in purple or yellow. This cost AU$34.20 from YesStyle. I am pretty confident, this ships from Asia as you will find a lot of the clothing is one size only which in reality does not fit every shaped woman in the world.

I liked this skirt because it was satin and from far looks like bubbles on a skirt. I also liked the side bow because it makes this skirt pop. Found this at Etsy store Rooby and they are all handmade skirts for women that want to relive some childlike memories through clothing. There are so many great skirts on sale and I also like the concept behind the skirts. This skirt costs approx AU$28.

I like this top as it reminds me of spring and dressy up in dainty dresses and blouses. This cost US$17.80 from Forever 21. It's great to wear with jeans and wedges or dress it up with a skirt and cardigan. It is subtle and not over the top. Forever 21 usually offers a lot of girly clothing.

Found this at Sourpuss for AU$42. Sourpuss specializes in Punk, Rock and Tattoo Clothing. Even if you are not into this clothing, there are many items that suit for different tastes. I thought this dress was still girly in that it was white based with pastel patterns. You can make it more dainty by wearing flats and a cardigan or spice it up like the picture with a good pair of pumps.

Asos never disappoints with these Sugarhill Boutique Cherry shorts. This pair of shorts cost AU$39.84 and they are versatile as you can dress them up or down. You can match it with bright colours also.

Accessories

Absolutely adore this necklace! It's cherrytastic! Perfect to match with a cherry outfit or just with a casual outfit. Found this at Birdsnest for $39.95. I don't usually see anything like this at the normal shops so wanted to include it because it's so, so cute! :D

Found this cute purse from Alenka for £15 which is approx. AU$23. I like it because it's pink and that's one of my favourite colours. I also like how the zipper is a cherry zipper too. I really like the website because it has a lot of quirky accessories and home decor and the products are vintage inspired. You can grab quite a few bargains from this website and have some really unique products.

Found these handcrafted bows from Rock-a-Hula Hair that cost £6 which is approx. AU$9.30. It says on the website they only ship to the UK but consider international shipping. I like all the handcrafted floral pieces they offer. Everything is handcrafted and for the hair. Very cute pieces for sale.

I really enjoy visiting the Ecoist website because they make fashion out of recycling goods. This does cost $19.50 but the effort into making it out of coke cans makes you think about how you wouldn't ever make it yourself. I like it because they make junk fashionable. It's Fabulous!!

Found this stretchy cherry ring from St8ment for £13.25 which is approx. AU$20. I like it because it is diamontes and stretchy which means it will fit my fat fingers. I have the issue of trying to find rings that fit. Great for some Bling Bling!!

Found this great bag from Ragz2Bagz for AU$25. All the bags are handcrafted and good quality fabric is used. There are many cherry designs to choose from and I like how the patterns are mixed on every bag. I think it's a fantastic way to have a unique handbag. Most of the designs are very cute and match easily to casual outfits.

Randomly stumbled upon Emily Finan who makes handcrafted wooden jewellery whilst also recycling products. The wooden face is handpainted. The products are dainty and she also sells artwork. This cost US$10 and you will definitely have one of kind jewellery from Emily.

Found these earrings from bowandcrossbones for £9.00 which is approx. AU$14. I like this site as it specializes in vintage and retro items. They do cater for all tastes and are reasonably priced. There is a good range of cherry accessories from this website.

Shoes

Thought these peep toe heels were just so adorable!! The costs AU$71 from Shoes.com and capture the baby doll, pinup girl look. This will go perfect with a body hugging dress or sixties inspired, vintage dress. They also come in black and Pinup Girl Clothing also sell them for US$82 with a higher platform.

Thought these gum boots were cute! They are from Office and cost £15 which is approx. AU$23. Perfect for winter or if you feel a bit zany and want to be random with a casual outfit. I see this going well with tights or jeggings. It's just for fun.

Found these wedges from Endless for $54.99. They look simple and very comfy. I love wedges because you can match them to almost anything. I like to wear them with tights, jeans or dresses.

These thong wedges / flip flops are heaps cute and perfect for the beach. They cost US$11 from Old Navy which is part of the Gap site. Not everyone will like these thongs as the pattern is on the sole, so no one will see the design until you take your foot out of it. I still like them regardless :)

Found these at both Pinup Girl Clothing and Shoes.com. Shoes sell it for AU$66 and have it in stock where as Pinup Girl Clothing sell it for $56 but are currently out of stock. I like them because they are like Mary Jane shoes. Perfect with skirts and dresses to add a bit of cuteness to it.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hope this gives you an idea of what you can look for when buying cherry fashion. There are so many ways to wear it from punk rock to dainty. I think it's great for any season and brightens up your day. I think it's perfect for everyone to try out and add a bit of fruitiness to your wardrobe.
So I was really excited to receive my glossy box today! It arrived in this box:
I thought the postage stamp had ruined the box but luckily there was another box inside! Pictured below is what I received:
I was quite impressed because not only did I receive the samples but also received promo codes inside for the products. Glossybox also list the range of products they were offering that month with a brief description on what each does :) Good thing is you can recycle the box, keeping it for make-up and accessories or use it as a gift box.
Here are some close up pictures of what I received:
I am instantly in love with the kosmea hydrating rose water spray mist. It is very refreshing and leaves a light rose scent on your face. It definitely woke me up because of the addicting smell making you want more!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and am excited to see what the new months bring :D
