Lesson 294: Check In WEEK 42 - Embracing Mystery

The week was to really embrace the unknown and not overthink the outcome. It’s about the acceptance that things will work out. Whatever feelings that arise from wanting to know, it’s about working through those feelings and embracing patience. It’s about relaxing your mind and not overworking your mind to think about results. It’s about letting go and allow the flow of events to occur. Sometimes you just don’t need to know every single detail and control the situation. There is no need for added stress in your life. One of my favourite sayings is that everything will work out the way it’s supposed to and that rings true to this lesson.

Lesson 293: Embrace Your Not Knowing

Today we are to embrace what “not knowing” means to us by completing the following sentences:

  • What happens to me when something doesn't add up, make sense, or is downright mystifying is______

  • It is safe for me to hang out in a state of not knowing because______

  • One thing I can do to ease my discomfort around not knowing what to do (the answer, what my next steps should be) is______

  • I know that things always work out for me, no matter what they look like on the outside, because______

******

My answers:

  • What happens to me when something doesn't add up, make sense, or is downright mystifying is that it sends my mind into a noisy chaos.

  • It is safe for me to hang out in a state of not knowing because I know that everything works out the way it’s supposed to.

  • One thing I can do to ease my discomfort around not knowing what to do (the answer, what my next steps should be) is to slow down and breathe through it.

  • I know that things always work out for me, no matter what they look like on the outside, because I let it go and the Universe will let things flow.

Day 292 - A Year to Clear - Sweep Your Way To a Solution

Lesson 292: Sweep Your Way To a Solution

I want to be with this moving on, moment to moment...
— Gunilla Norris, Being Home

Today is to think about something in your life that may be rattling you or making you feel stuck. The idea today is to pick up a broom for a minute and sweep a room. The idea is to invoke a fresh start and clear the path for a solution. It will create mindfulness and calm your mind.

This is something that’s actual down in witchcraft and I realise the benefits. We make besoms aka brooms, that help in the ways of protection but they can be used to sweep away stagnant energy through intention. It’s a good way to move about the energy in your home and have you focus on something else to free your mind.

Sometimes in the simplest of tasks is where you gain moments of clarity. What have you got to lose really?

Day 291 - A Year to Clear - Be Patient

Lesson 291: Be Patient

Dear sir, Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now see the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer. Perhaps you do carry within yourself the possibility of shaping and forming as a particularly happy and pure way of living; train yourself to it — but take whatever comes with great trust, and if only it comes out of your own will, out of your inmost being, take it upon yourself and hate nothing. . .
— Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet. Translation by M.D. Herter Norton. New York: WW. Norton & Company, Inc., 1954

Today we are to contemplate the words of poet Rainer Maria Rilke. It serves as a reminder to relax on what you need to know.

I definitely have accepted that I do not need to have the answers to everything. I think I used to be quite impatient and would like to know the answers to everything, but I like to live with a bit of mystery in life. I don’t need to control every situation which I believe is part of impatience. If you let things be, they will work out the way it’s supposed to. You continue living without having the answers to everything. You can still make decisions and life continues on. It’s about acceptance that sometimes things are outside of your control whilst others aren’t. You don’t stop living just because you don’t have an answer to your life. Sometimes it’s all about trust and letting go to let the Universe unfold it for you. We just need a reminder from time to time.

Lesson 289: Not Knowing

Not-knowing is a legitimate state of being.
Not knowing does not mean not caring.
— Stephanie Bennett Vogt

Today we are to breathe in this contemplation.

I really see it as patience. It’s allowing yourself to surrender to a state of being that is acceptance of the unknown. We don’t know what the future hold… and that’s okay. I think it’s embracing the unknown and allowing things to unfold. That’s not to say that I don’t care about my future, but it’s mostly a surrender that within the unknown there is something that reassures us that it all works out.

What did this contemplation bring you today?
