Outfit of the Month - Candy Fashion - February

Sorry it has been some time since I last posted! My computer went in for repairs so this post comes late! I started in February, so it is for last month!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I was looking at Dylan's Candy Bar and it gave me the idea to look into Candy Fashion.
Unfortunately Dylan's Candy Bar is only available in USA so I couldn't blog about it - even though I started to and became disappointed when it wasn't available worldwide.
So when I think of Candy Fashion, I think of Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, Liquorice All sorts, Lollipops and Cupcakes and transpiring them into colours and patterns. The colours I imagine are bright or loud with striped patterns or singular colours. Here are my inspirations for Candy fashion. Please enjoy!
Accessories
GuiltyFreeCandy Gifts
Really love this Etsy store as it is all handcrafted candy items. There are a few different products on offer such as mirror cases, Handbag holders and iPhone covers. I love the designs as they look like actual candy and somewhat make your mouth water. Prices start at AU$12.20 from GuiltyFreeCandy and I like the sweet option without being bad :)
Coin Purse - White Hearts
So I searched for "Candy Purse" and this is what I found - Ecoist. This site is actually really amazing as everything is made from recycled goods. Most of the featured items are candy wrappers made into fashion accessories. I thought it was a fantastic idea because the creativity was outstanding. This purse costs US$22 but they do sell handbags, clutches, totes and jewellery. It might not be for everyone but wanted to share this coin purse to go with this month's theme.
Jordyn Small Cross Body Satchel
Love this bright pink satchel! It's cute and perfect! This I found on Kate Hill for AU$24.99 on sale. This would go great with any summer outfit. It's more casual and can accompany a pair of bright shorts or skirt.
Gloss Analogue Watch
This watch costs $AU10 at Gloss. The watches can only be bought instore as I couldn't find an online option for Gloss Accessories. They come in nearly every colour you can think of. I though it was a cheap find for $10 and can mix and match for every outfit. There is a jelly band with diamonte circle around the face of the watch. They're cute and fabulous!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tops

Georgina Textured Sweetheart Crop Top

Loved the colour of this top! Thought it was good that it came with a matching skirt and the bright pink belt goes well with the outfit to break it up. It costs £12 from Boo Hoo. I think the whole outfit reminds me of a cupcake. Cropped tops are for everyone, but I wanted to share it because I thought it looked so cute!

Striped Dolman Top

Found this top at Forever 21 for US$12.80. Thought it was really cheap and goes perfect for a casual day out as it's lightweight and loosely fitted, so you most likely won't be hot in it. I thought of the soft pink as cotton candy and would look good on most skin tones. It's a very cute and simple top.

Chloe Printed Cardigan Sweater

I liked this cardigan because it come in different cute designs and this one in particular reminds me of candy hearts. It costs $24.50 from Delia's. I also liked this bright emerald bow cardigan that was on offer. It's sweet and simple.

ASOS PETITE Exclusive T Shirt With Neon Stripe

This is very daring. I like it because it's bright. It also comes in neon pink or white. It costs approx. AU$23 from Asos. If you matched this with some bright blue or pink shorts and bright sneakers, you'd have yourself one funky looking casual outfit. You can also wear a bright coloured singlet underneath to make it stand out.

Supre Short Boobtube

This boobtube is simple and cheap for AU$10. It actually comes in over 20 colours and ranges from XXS-XL. Supre offers free shipping for orders over AU$80. Really liked the colour scheme in the picture. Thought this bright blue really matched well with the purple skirt. You can't go wrong with $10!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bottoms
Skater Skirt
Thought this was a fabulous find for a pleated skirt that allows you to mix and match with a soft coloured top. It costs AU$29.99 from Ally Fashion and also comes in black. This a fun skirt to wear out with the girls and it's bright too.
Pieces Skinny Leggings
Asos had these funky leggings for AU$25.95. I like the colour because you see it pop up every now and then and it is very eye-catching. They actually look like Jeggings from the website because there are pockets on the back. They look very hipster and you can tone it down with simple black and white colours like in this picture or go all out in bright colours like pink and yellow.
JET John Eshaya Distressed Cut-Off Short Shorts
Yellow spits out sunshine! These shorts cost US$24.50 from Hot Topic and I like how they displayed it with bright pink boots. You can pair up these shorts with a subtle top or go out with a big bang of colour. Currently Hot Topic offers a range of brightly coloured bottoms including skinny jeans and skirts. I thought it was fairly cheap and if you buy denim, it's currently buy one get another 50% off.
Love Label Peplum Skirt
Loved the design of this skirt and the colour and fabric used to make it. It's like a sheer pink and matched with a bright blue or yellow top, I think would make it a great night out outfit. It costs £29 from Very and you can be creative on how you dress it up or down. Heaps cute!
Shoes
Ava-05 Strappy Striped Open Toe Wedge
The heel on this shoe reminds me of liquorice all sorts candy or an ice cream sandwich. It's Fabulous because it's hot pink and epitomizes that candy look. Found this wedge at UrbanOg for US$28.20. This shoe does come in other colours like blue and orange and is perfect for the beach or with casual outfit with shorts and loose shirt.
Mel - Butterfly Yellow
Thought I would spin out the idea of jelly sandals. Haven't seen too much of these in retail shops but thought jelly = candy. Styletread has this on offer for AU$49.95 and offers free delivery. These sandals would go perfect with a cute dress or wearing them to the beach.
Bronte Flat
Found these candy blue flats at Rubi for AU$19.95. Simple and bright which is perfect for summer. Goes with any type of outfit because flats can be matched with anything really! Can see this with purple, hot pink and yellow.
Adidas Women Fashion High Cut Shoes in Bright Green
These shoes are absolutely amazing! They remind me of gummi worms for some reason - probably due to the show laces. I found these sneakers on Hi Sale for US$58.99 which in my opinion is very cheap compared to retail stores. This website does ship to Australia. I'm really liking the high cut sneakers and this website has a lot to offer in designs and brands.
Dresses
Lacey Cakes Dress
This dress is absolutely delightful! It's lacey so is very dainty and reminds me of fairyfloss, cake and marshmallows all at the same time. I really do like the soft blue underlay of this dress. Found this dress at tobi that showcases different designers at affordable prices. Was very impressed an the vast range of designs and colour range. This dress cost US$44 and also comes in yellow.
Sunday Wrap Dress - Jade
So funky and outstanding! I love how the colour pops! This dress is versatile in that you can wear it casually or for a night out! This costs approx AU$45 from Nasty Gal and I found all the dresses very reasonably priced. Wide assortment of styles and designers on offer with international shipping. Definitely a fun dress to stand out in!
Billabong Twisted Dress - Women's
I like this dress for it's array of candy colours and reminded me of liquorice all sorts. I found it at Dogfunk for US$19.73 currently on sale. It's summery and bright - ideal for the beach or casual outing. Can mix this dress with sandals or wedges.
Silence & Noise Intersection Dress
Really liked this lime coloured dress as it reminded me of sorbet. I particularly like the back design as it's not your typical lace dress and the back is daring. It's not the cheapest dress at $69 from Urban Outfitters but really stood out for me for it's design. It doesn't suit every skin tone and would only suit a person whose personality that matches the dress.
Irene Dress in Pink with Chocolate Bow from Laura Byrnes Black Label
This dress reminds me of strawberry sponge cake and marshmallows. I really enjoyed flicking through the website Pinup Girl Clothing because it captures a time in which I would love to dress - the 50s and 60s. The website offers a wide range of vintage clothing that provides for all the curvy ladies. This dress cost US$130. It was a bit pricey, but you can find some cheaper options on sale. I appreciated what was on offer and realized that not many places encapsulate that time period so I was highly impressed.
Men's Baseball Raglan Tees
Hi Everyone! My friend had asked me to look into the Men's Raglan Tees.
Most sport uniform shops will sell them but most of the sites were based in the US and didn't ship to Australia. I opted to go with finding plain baseball raglan tees as requested.
What I did manage to find at reasonable prices is listed below.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Blank Clothing off a range of "blank" clothing at cheap prices because the idea is to buy in bulk. They have no minimum order value and the more you buy the cheaper it gets. The baseball raglan shirts cost AU$12.10 for one piece but when buying 2-9 items it will cost $10.45 per piece, 10-19 items will cost $9.15 per piece and 20+ items will cost $7.87 per piece.

Amazon offered the brand Anvil with prices ranging from US$7.59 - $29.62. Depending on the colour and size of the garment, will determine the price. There actually is a vast range of colours from this brand and also no minimum order. I would have linked the Anvil clothing website but unfortunately they do not ship to Australia so linked Amazon instead.

ascolour offers the 3/4 raglan tee for AU$20 each. If buying 4-9 units, the price will drop to $15 each. There is no minimum order and the reason why I like this site, is because it actually will show you how many items are in stock for each colour.

Plane Clothes offered the baseball tee at AU$20-$29 depending on the style of the tee. They also have retail stores in Melbourne if you are close by and want to check it out. They also sell women's clothing. The styling is simple and no over the top colouring.

Jersey Joe offered all 3 short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve and full length on their website. They also specialize in all sports jerseys for American based teams. The raglans range in cost for US$6.94-$11. Good thing about finding this site is that they actually ship to Australia!

Karma Loop offers both plain and printed baseball tees. The cheapest raglan tee I found cost US$13.95 on sale. They do offer a range of colours for this tee. If you get stuck searching, I just typed "baseball" and it took me to 3 pages of baseball related wear. They also have a cheap offer on shipping when using the code: KLSPRING

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were a lot of designer brands that sold baseball tees for over $50 but I thought I would list the cheapest as possible. There are also sites such as The Print Bar, Zazzle and Cafe Press that sell baseball tees and you can add your own design to the tee as well with prices starting at AU$27.
If anyone would like me to list ladies baseball raglan's, please let me know.
Remember clicking on the text link or logo link will redirect you to the website listed.
Fancy a Wedge?
So it's been awhile I know! Life gets in the way (and maybe some laziness) so it's been some time since an update.
Since it is still summer in Australia, I was thinking about what would be a good buy that would go with any summer outfit for the ladies.
I thought wedges go with anything - shorts, skirts, jeans, bathers, dresses. I didn't want to provide dull designs so I went with either cute, fun, floral, eccentric and bright.
I like wearing wedges because they are always comfortable and you never end up complaining that your feet hurt after using them all day.
Check out my favourite picks:-
Francesca Fuchsia Suedette High Wedges
Thought these were perfect for a girly girl. They are bright, simple, sexy and fun. They will make your legs look long and make you stand out. Definitely can wear this for going out. Good thing about this pair of shoes is that it comes in different colours including, black, red and silver glitter. Found these shoes at Boo Hoo for £35 which is approximately AU$51.
Corky blk
Found these flirty floral wedges from Shoe Show for AU$45.00. Like them because they look silky and funky. Reminds me of the Chinese style dress Cheongsam. I also like how the pink stands out on the black background. Really cute as well :)
Lipstik - Dommy Red
Found these cutesy red wedges from Style Tread for AU$39.95. I like these wedges because they're versatile in the outfits you can match with it. I'd wear these with jeans or jean tights or a dress that you wanted to add some detail to. Great find!
MARAK
Found these at Wanted Shoes for AU$59.95. Although they are a bit pricey, I liked them because you can match it to so many different outfits because of how many colours are included in the design. They remind me of the retro looks and 70s. These are fun and bright. Good for the daring!
I Zig It Heel
Thought the heel on this shoe was awesome! I think any shoes with funky heels are good fun because it makes people look twice at your footwear. Found this on Modcloth for $44.99. Also a fun way to experiment with the leg wraps. This would go great with a skirt or shorts.
Black Jug Contrast Wedge Dolly
Had to include the Leopard print. I don't think Leopard prints ever go out of fashion! They are classic and I will never get sick of seeing leopard print. I found these shoes at A Wear for £35 which is approximately AU$50. These can be worn both casually or going out. It's a good choice to break up a black outfit.
Love Label Conure Corsage
Ok, so orange isn't exactly everyone's favourite colour but I especially liked the design because it was dainty and cute. It's perfect for a summer dress and I really do like multi coloured wedge heel against the orange. The flower makes this shoe just a lil bit more girly. Found this at Very for £37 which works out to be approximately AU$55.
Floral High Wedge Shoes
I like the subtlety of the colours and design on these wedges. To me, they look like a tribal print. I think these shoes would go great with tan coloured clothing or to mix it up with red clothes. Found these at New Look for £24.99 which is approximately AU$37.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm also not afraid to check out stores like Target, Big W, KMart and Spendless as routinely they will sell wedges from $20-$35. I always find some cute shoes and they have lasted for quite some time.

I wanted to mix up things with a few new sites that I have never visited before. A lot of the great looking shoes cost over $200-$500 but as I am providing for those on a tight budget, I believe in good research before making any purchases.

Feel free to post any cheap websites that you come across that sell cute and funky wedges.

Coolest Find of the Month - January

Heated Eyelash Curler

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Modelco Turbo Lash Wand
Some of you may already know about this product but I thought it is a cool product from Modelco that helps sleek your eyelashes and make them look naturally curled and longer.
You can directly buy the Turbo Lash Wand from the Modelco website for AU$35 and I remember watching this on the news some time ago and that's why I thought to include it on my blog. I have read beauty and fashion forums such as Vogue and most users swear by this product. I realize it's not the cheapest product to buy so I thought to include some cheaper alternatives as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1000 Hour Heated Eyelash Curler

Found this on Ry (stands for Recreate Yourself) for AU$16.16. I have seen this sold at our local Priceline. Normal retail price is $17.95.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Manicare Heated Eyelash Curler 23001
Found this at Okme for AU$12.99. Normally retails at AU$17.50.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ardell Heated Eyelash Curler

This I also found at Okme. This sells for AU$8.95 and normally retails at AU$10.49. Also Okme offers free shipping with orders over $75.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may be already aware of this and thinking this is old school, but it's good to share for those who never thought of it. It's great for a gift for someone you know who is into their make-up and beauty products.
I think it's nifty and am always up for making my eyelashes look longer.
Outfit of the Month - December
So I've been away for some time but have an outfit for the month of December. It's not really one outfit but rather one colour that is really popular at the moment.
Mustard seems to be popping up in all kinds of fashion. It's a nice warm, natural colour that suits most skin tones. I think when choosing products, you'll need to find the right depth and brightness of the colour and match it towards your skin.
The colour has been circulating for some time in formal wear as pictured above, but I like it for us, here in Australia as we lead into summer.
The outfit that caught my eye is worn by Jennifer Lopez when she was in Peru recently.
I think what striked my interest is the natural beige colour heels that helps compliment this outfit - and also the fact she has killer legs! :)
Please find below my attempt at providing some reasonably prices mustard fashion items that may interest you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Dress

Motel Laureen Dress with Sheer Panel

Found this dress at Asos. It comes In Mustard and Wine. It's simple but let's you have the option to wear black accessories with the outfit. I would not recommend wearing a belt with this. Black heels or ankle boots will be enough for this outfit. I can see a choker being worn with this and a clutch. I think the black helps break up the colour and helps against all skin tones as black clothing suits everyone! This dress costs approximately AU$34.95.

Pheobe V Back Shift Dress

I like this dress because it can be worn both casually or in the evening. I like the pattern of how the fabric comes together. It's quite short, so I wouldn't wear it if you aren't happy with the way your legs look. Pumps work best with this dress - I can't see this with any strappy heel. With this dress, I think simplifying the jewellery will help because of the design of the dress - No necklace though bracelets would be fine. I found this at Boohoo and costs approximately AU$24. There are so many sale items on this website with up to 50% off original prices. Everything is listed in British pounds.

Mustard bow shift dress

I think petite and cute when I see this dress. The mid white trimmings acts as a belt. This dress is good to accessorize with white shoes and I believe you could pull off pearls with this outfit also. I can also see a drop necklace with this dress but no over-accessorizing needed. The dress is simple so therefore it should be toned down when choosing accessories. Found this dress at Dorothy Perkins at approximately AU$24. It's also a good site to find sale items with over 1000 items on Sale for up to 50% off.

Skater Belt Dress by Rare

Found this casual dress from Top Shop for approximately AU$50. I can see this worn with tights and ballet flats. Alternatively, it could work with brown boots whether knee high or ankle boots, but I can't envision it with heels - I think this mainly to the type and cut of the dress. It reminds me of the 50s for some reason and I can see a sun hat worn with this. Good thing about Top Shop is that there is free worldwide delivery with orders over £75.

The Shoes

Promise Shoes - Lipa Mustard

I absolutely love the style of these shoes. My only problem is that I don't like wear really high heels because I am a clutz and most likely will fall down - it's like a regular occurence. This shoe is perfect for dressing up a casual outfit or complimenting evening wear. Found this at heels.com and costs US$52.99. Actually really like this website because of their extensive range and you can find some interesting designs for footwear.

No Cutting Corn-ers Heel

Modcloth sells this pair of shoes for US$42.99. Thought these were mega cute as they are girly and sweet! I think it's the bow that makes it special. This I can see worn with jeans or a nice summer dress. I also see baby doll tops and shorts worn with these shoes. I think these heels can pretty much go with any casual outfit because it's simple.

Ladies Platform High Heels

Found these shoes off Ebay from a store call Fashion hunt for AU$39.99. The store sells a lot of ankle boots and heels and thought this was a good idea to include a classic pump. I think these can be worn both casually and with evening wear. If you're not into platforms probably best to stay away. They look comfortable as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Accessories
Miss Loretta - Mustard Yellow Flower Headband
Found this cute find on Etsy from a Shop Sunshine and Carousels. Love this shop because everything is handmade and you can find some cute hair accessories from this shop. This headband costs US$20 but when you think about the time and effort placed into making it, the prices on Etsy don't seem that bad. They are other stores that sell cool accessories with some mustard items include, Bip And Bop, Hayeslnutt Designs, and Bigg Creations. I suggested these stores because of their hair accessories and earrings. There are plenty of stores out there but these stores had some interesting designs.
Evans Accessories
Found these real cheap accessories from Evans. It is actually a plus size store for women from the UK but they also sell accessories for really cheap. the earring listed above only cost £2.00 which is approximately AU$3.00. They do ship internationally and most of their accessories are on sale. I think the most expensive accessory I saw was £18.00 which is about AU$27. Thought this was a really good site plus you can check out the clthing if you are plus size too!
Ebags Mustard Handbags
Every bag I found on this website was on sale or highly discounted. The mustard bags I found above ranged from US$22.40-$39.20. There is a vast range in all colours imaginable and you can also find designer brands on this website. It lists on the website free shipping over $99 but not sure if this includes internationally. I personally like the clutch in the middle because you can match it with the first dress I listed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If mustard doesn't really interest you, then stay tuned for next month as I will have new outfit/colour to work with. Hope you enjoyed this read and hope it gave you a different stance on the colour. I think it's a nice neutral toned colour that suits everyone! I should be blogging more in the upcoming weeks but had a rest over the Christmas break. Keep safe and Happy New Year!
