Etude House - Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk RD304

My good friend came back from Manila and bought me some Etude House products.

My first review is of Dear My Blooming Lips -Talk  RD304.

Whenever I used the rear facing camera, it kept making the colour look like a coral lipstick but it is far from it. This is why I edited the above pic to reflect the lipstick's true colour.

I interpret the colour as a hot pink red lipstick. It is bold, bright, fun and girly all at the same time. It works well for Asian skin as the products are made in Korea. That's not to say it wouldn't work well with other skin tones, but the colour combined with my skin, did not look overpowering and matched with just black eyeliner, made my look seem classic and simple.

To be honest, I find it hard to pull off any form of red lipstick. It is an art to find the perfect piece that you feel comfortable wearing but also compliments your features. I think why I like this shade so much is because of the hot pink tinge and I like hot pink lippies.

This pic makes the lipstick seem like a peachy pink colour. This was just in a room with natural light. So I tried direct sunlight and the results turned out like this:

The reason why the pic is blurry is because I was using the front facing camera on my iPhone. The rear facing camera did not capture the colour of the lipstick - it kept making it look like a dull pastey coral. This pic truly captures the colour. It looks like a hot pink red right? Well, that's how I see it.

I like this lipstick because it goes on smoothly with no cracking. You can feel your lips being moisturized and wears really well. You don't need to reapply too much to get the colour you need and it evenly distributes on your lips. It finishes with a creamy texture and I felt that it did not dry on your lips. Plus, the packaging is so cute! I don't even want to throw the box out because of how dainty and girly it is. Haha!

All in all, I am a convert to Etude House and am now looking into Asian make-up products to see how they fair on my skin. I want to see if Asian products work well for my Asian skin or if mainstream brands here in Australia are just as complimenting. We shall see :)

So, to buy these products, there is no direct link for Australia on the Etude Website.

I found this particular site from a seller in Australia: Pink Sakura. This website is great because they offer free shipping for orders over $50 and also sell other Asian manufactured beauty and cosmetic products.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Tenacious Teal

On another Priceline run, there was Maybelline Color Tattoos on special! Currently Maybelline is on a 3 for 2 special but I paid $7.95 on special. From memory it was $14.95 regular price I think!

Instantly drawn to this range, I thought I would check out what was on offer. I was tossing up between the purple and teal and decided on this deep, rich colour. I may go back and get the purple but haven't decided yet. I liked that the Tenacious Teal was still bright even as a darker shade.

Ok, so this isn't the best application and I sort of just rushed it on. It is a cream gel shadow and it is a lot brighter in person than in picture.

The model pic seems a little bit too bright in my opinion so it makes me think the below pic had some other colours blended.

Possibly I might have to add more of the cream gel on to get this effect but I believe some editing may have been involved with this pic too.

What's good about this product is that it does not crease like it advertises and has 24 hour wear. Not that you need to wear this for 24 hours.... I think it is just promoting that it's long lasting.

I like the Tenacious Teal because it's one of those electrifying colours. It stands out but also makes you look a bit more lively in the face.

I think with this colour you can go with simple nude lips or bright pink lipstick would really work too! This colour is versatile in that it's bright enough for summer but also great for an evening occasion.

Hello Kitty - Majorelle Eyeshadow

I went into Priceline as I normally do every week to see what is on special.

What I found was that I got a free cosmetics bag if I purchased ANY Hello Kitty product. Awesome I thought!

So I purchased a compact mirror and an eyeshadow named Marjorelle. Please note these items can only be found in Priceline.

The eyeshadow is a deep blue glitter with a charcoal undertone. Here is a lame attempt at a picture of the eyeshadow:

I tried real hard to get the lighting right for this picture. The eyeshadow looks more charcoal grey in this picture. I can definitely say that when you put this on, it is a charcoal blue with glitter scattered across. No snapshot really captured the colour I found, so really sorry about that!

In the Hello Kitty range, they do mono as well as duo eyeshadows. The eyeshadow cost $9.95 and the compact mirror on my original picture cost $10. I believe other colours in the eyeshadow was light blue, purples, greens and pink.

I am really into deep blue at the moment and pairing it with hot pink, so this is why I bought this particular eyeshadow - to match with Hot Pink lipstick.

Always check out your local Priceline as you never know what freebie or bargain you can find :D

LiLi out!

Lush - Lust Solid Perfume

So made my way to Lush  - Garden City and was enriched by all the beautiful scents that filled the store. There are so many unique flavours to the creams, body washes, soaps and perfumes!

I was in a wonderland when I went in and I've been wanting these goods for a long time but never made the purchase online.

I've got to say my best purchase was the solid perfume that I bought in "Lust". It does come in a soap which I purchased as well and spray perfume or cream but I felt that the solid perfume was compact and easy to chuck in your handbag on the go.

It is a 12g stick and smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers! The scent is so strong on application but mellows over the course of the day - I love it! You are instantly hit with jasmine, roses, sandalwood and vanilla. It's perfection.

The great thing is that it's suitable for vegans. The perfume itself is made by Gorilla Perfume who have provided this scent through Lush. Check out their website here.

This cost $7.95 which I thought was quite cheap and it's convenient packaging means you can take it anywhere! I definitely recommend this product!

Napoleon Perdis - Mauritius Peach

I bring to you Napoleon Perdis' Mauritius Peach lipgloss.

I am still deciding whether I like this lipgloss or not. The colour is amazing but it is hard to get this smoothed out on your lips without having that strokey look. I tried butting my lips but then I found the cracks in your lips stood out and also that it doesn't even out on your lips. I feel that you do have to paint this lipgloss on to achieve the look you want. And, by paint I mean lap it on.

I think if I perfect getting the lipgloss on my lips, I'll post a video up or photo up LOL!!

Here is a picture of it on:

20120725-185711.jpg

I really hope you can see the colour but it's a soft peachy shimmering lipgloss with gold glitter or alternatively it is a gold shimmery lipgloss with a peachy glitter through it. It's both really! Haha :D I love the colour but still figuring out how to wear it.

I think it's a great summer lipgloss if you're heading to the beach or a summer party. It's definitely a great lipgloss for going out and if you're wearing a gold sparkly dress, it would add a nice touch. To be honest, I don't think this would suit any dark coloured outfit at all. It's too softly toned to go against anything bold in colour.

I bought this for $23 from Big W and Ebay sells it for the same price. There are many Napoleon Perdis counters at the shopping centres, so you can definitely have a test with the make-up artists also.

Have a nice day!
